Yamaha and Honda are recalling motorcycles the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said could cause crashes.
HONDA RECALL: 2002
VTX1800 manufactured between August 14 and October 4, 2001. The
component to be replaced is the swing arm which may not have been
properly welded. The swing arm could break while riding causing the
rider to lose control, possibly resulting in a crash. Honda will notify
owners and dealers will inspect the weld and, if necessary, replace the
swing arm free of charge. This safety recall is expected to begin on or
about September 25, 2009. Potentially 688 motorcycles may be affected.
Owners of the 2002 Honda VTX1800 can contact Honda Motorcycle customer
service at 1-866-784-1870.

Doc asked me to send this out to you concerning HR 2057, Right to Repair Act, and am asking you to contact your US Congress member and ask the to support
and cosponsor this bill. Modern vehicles, including motorcycles,
contain advanced technology that monitors or controls virtually every
function of the vehicle including: brakes, steering, air bags, fuel
delivery, ignition, lubrication, theft prevention, emission controls
and soon, tire pressure. Vehicle owners and independent shops need full
access to the information, parts and tools necessary to accurately
diagnose, repair or re-program these systems. Vehicle manufacturers
are making access to such vital information increasingly difficult to
obtain for the independent aftermarket and its customers. Without
access to critical information, parts and tools, motorists are forced
to patronize new car dealerships, which may not be convenient or easily
accessible to a car owner and may increase the cost of repairs which
adds a financial burden onto my household

Hey everyone,
Here is another Bill that I am adding to the watch list.
HB 137 by Rep. D. Alan Hays from District 25 that includes Lake, Seminole, and Volusia Counties.
- "Motor Vehicles: Revises penalties for unlawful operation of sound making device in motor vehicle; provides that such operation is moving violation which includes
assessment of points against driver's license; provides increased
penalties for repeat violations within certain time period."
I
have just written Rep. Hays to seek clarification as to the any effect
this would have on motorcycles tailpipes. There was no mention of
motorcycle tailpipes in the Bill, but we can never be to careful.
Thanks,

This was an email sent by Beamer back in July. Please read this because it has to do with legislature against motorists who text message while driving. As you know motorists have enough distractions that will lead to accidents leading to death. Especially in the case of in traffic with motorcyclists.
Campaign will tell Fla. drivers to hang up
